Since 1926, the League of Kansas Municipalities (League) has promoted a city service awards program to recognize city employees for faithful, continuous service. The awards program includes both city employees and elected officials. In addition, the program offers a number of levels for recognition.
The program includes the purchase of a gift for the employee or elected official from the enclosed catalog, a listing in the Service Awards program which is presented at the annual League conference, and an individualized certificate printed on parchment paper for each recipient.
Those employees or elected officials receiving awards for 40 years and over of service will be presented with their framed certificates at the Public Service Awards Luncheon during the annual conference. Each 40-year and over recipient will be listed in the program along with a photo and short biography.
If a city does not wish to purchase a gift from the League catalog, they may also choose to simply list their employee or elected official in the awards program. In this case, the recipient will also receive an individualized certificate from the League. All awards will be mailed directly to your city in July. Certificates will be mailed after the League conference.
